Croatia has over 1000 islands of which only about 50 are inhabited. I visited three.
First was an island called Bisevo. It's tiny and home to a very popular attraction called The Blue Cave.
It's entrance is narrow and low and when entering via boat it's vital you get right down otherwise you'll lose your head.
On a sunny calm day, the sun's rays pass through an underwater opening and lightens up the cave in a beautiful blue.

The second island I visited was Vis. Here I spent time in a tiny, sleepy and solely used for fishing village called Komiza. Every local has a job or business based upon the fishing industry. Or a cafe.

Lastly I visited Hvar. This is one of the most popular islands and the second closest to Split. Hvar is a tourist hot spot and as such its expensive and crowded even in the off season. That said, it's attractive and because its an island it hasn't been over developed and retains most of its original charm.
