I’ve just completed the final house sit for Scotland and probably the last for a while.
I was looking after a home and pets in a place called Broxburn which is about a 40-minute bus ride from Edinburgh.

I may have saved the best for last. It really was great and my hosts were super. I was looking after many pets including a dog, rabbits, birds and fish.
Maddie, the dog, is awesome and easy to care for despite her anxiety and fun to be around.
The other animals were also easy to look after and enjoyable to watch and take care of.

I only realised upon looking back at this video on the day that I gave the birds the food for the rabbits! I may not be the best cameraman but at least I was able to make the switch because of it.
Around the area were many attractions, parks, sites, walks and great towns to visit. I was never bored.
I had access to a car and bike also which made life so much easier and enabled a few road trips to check out my fair share of castles. Mind you, I didn’t need to go far because it seems that castles are everywhere.

While I was there the Edinburgh Fringe Festival was in the final week so I took advantage of that and caught some shows and got amongst the street artists and soaked up the atmosphere.

Looking back on my time in Scotland I saw and experienced quite a bit in 2.5 months and realised it’s as beautiful as I imagined and hoped for. I met some interesting people, had awesome house sits and made some great friends along the way.

I’ve been procrastinating a fair bit recently about my future and potential travel destinations but in the end, I settled on Croatia. Not a bad choice I thought.
