Jodhpur, India

Jodhpur is pretty much in the middle of Rajasthan and about a 6 hour train ride from Jaisalmer. It's population is around 3.6 million.

It's named "the blue city" due to the colour of the houses in the old town painted with indigo.

It's quite a typically busy Indian city similar to Jaipur with some subtle differences.
I feel that the people might be little friendlier. I encountered numerous men and women eager to talk and assist and advise without any agenda other than interaction and interest. I've no idea how many young kids yelled out "hello" and wanted to shake my hand and give me a high five.
On one occasion I had an audience of about 10 people as I answered questions about myself and my journey. It was good fun actually.
As far as scenery goes, it's attractive. It's fort is large and like other Indian forts, very impressive.
I looked around this one as I did others but I chose to look at it in a different way as well. On a zip line. There were 7 changes and it took about an hour in duration to complete. It was heaps of fun.

It's a very pretty city at night as well. Probably because the rubbish gets hidden in the blackness.
And I didn't have an issue walking the streets in the dark either. Quite enjoyable to be honest.

On my last day I took a walk to a local temple called, Kunj Bihari Ji Temple. It's set back from the streets to provide a bit of shelter and quietness and it was the latter I took advantage of. I sat and relaxed while India carried on outside.

The bus ride from Jodhpur to Udaipur, my next destination, was crazy. It's only about 250klm away but the ride takes over 6 hours. I had a sleeper cabin. It was more like a coffin. The air conditioning blew warm air rather than cool and the driver didn't care to make it a smooth journey for his passengers.
Another first for my journey.
