So it's road trip time again. This time I'm traveling from Kalamata to Koroni then onto Methoni with a short stop over in Pylos and back to Kalamata. This trip starts along the coast road heading south and then returns via the inland route.
Koroni, like pretty much all towns this time of year is very quiet and void of tourists. Just what I needed and again a place I could happily live. And like most towns in the Peleponesse, it has an excellent castle...

Zaga beach at Koroni is typically beautiful and empty...

When I drove into Methoni I questioned if I was on the right road. It's more like a gravel driveway. Once in the town, I felt like I had immediately doubled the population.
The Methoni castle is really impressive and quite a big site. Probably about the same size as the whole town. Disappointingly I arrived late and only had an hour to see as much as I could before it closed. Bit of a bummer but I got around it as best I could.

Just before I left Methoni I got a glimpse of what the repercussions are when a young boy spends too much time playing video games and doesn't pay enough attention to his father...

Pylos was actually a bit busier. Only in comparison to the other towns though and it was here that I started to wonder if it's really possible to have too much of a good thing. Can you get tired of paradise?

The drive back through the hills had plenty of twists and turns in the road and passed through numerous small villages. The scenery was that of olive groves, luscious green hills and the odd archeological site.
