The Wall, Check Point Charlie, Brandenburg Gates, Holocaust Memorial & Potsdamer Platz - Berlin,

Today I thought it was about time I did some serious walking and visit a few real points of interest. First stop was the remnants of the wall and museum at Nordbanhof.
This part of the wall actually went straight through an area previously used as a cemetery. When the wall was erected here most of the graves were moved to a different location. Not all. The wall was built straight over the top of some.
I found this moving and educational. It's a well presented and preserved area proving plenty of historical notes and images.

Then I walked to Check Point Charlie. I cant say the same for this spot. This is a tourist zone. For those interested in having a photo with two guys dressed in costumes holding American flags, this is the spot. Whatever significance or point of interest this may have was totally lost on me. The whole area was bit disappointing. You might see what I'm talking about from this photo.

After some more walking and a few more beer stops (this is as big as they get) the sun was just about to go down.

I had read that there was some light shows in the district so I kept on walking to Potsdamer Platz.
The first attraction I came across was disappointing. No photos here. I just kept walking to another bar for another beer.
I wasn't about to give up and kept on walking around thinking I've not found the best part.
I headed to the Holocaust Memorial. The iPhone won't take a descent shot at night so I borrowed this one from the web. Not the first time.

Finally I arrived at the Brandenburg Gates. The light show here was impressive and played in sync to a techno sound track. Very cool.
