In the need to find something and somewhere different and interesting I ventured to Friedrichshain.
This place has a reputation for being a bit hipster, artsy and alternative.

My wandering nature led me to go off the beaten track, down a few dodgy lane ways and into an area that I could only describe as a grunge spot.
It had the odd market stall, derelict buildings, interesting characters and graffiti and street art.

It was pretty cool and I left in a different way to that which I entered. That's when I realised I was definitely somewhere different. In a stretch of about 100 metres I was followed and asked if I wanted anything (the anything must have been in their pockets) by about a dozen guys pushing and peddling there wares. I could see them lined up down the street in front of me just waiting. There was no turning back so I pushed on through.
I new there were quite a few art galleries in the area so off I went in search of those. After walking to the first two only to find they were closed I ended up at Urban Spree. A gallery, workshop and book store not far from where I was interrupted earlier. This place is in a very groovy area and had some nice pieces on show such as this...

It certainly was a different kind of day.
