Berlin, Germany

I'll start by saying I'm here at the wrong time of year. And it's cold. Even I'm not afraid to say that.

Berlin is a very very large city. Much bigger than I thought. For example, from where I'm staying (and on the map it looks close to many things) it's a minimum two train rides and 30 minutes travel.

Berlin doesn't claim to be the prettiest city. I can vouch for that.

I can hop off the train and maybe spot something nice or interesting in a few minutes. Then I'll walk for about half an hour before I see something again. In between are numerous grey concrete apartment blocks and boring office buildings.

I was prepared to have to make an effort here and an effort I will make.

They certainly do love their beer here. So much so that they drink them in the streets and on the trains. This one is an upper middle sized and cost me €2.50. And they all taste good.

One of the local snacks is called 'Currywurst'. Its sliced bratwurst in spicy sauce sprinkled with curry powder. It tastes much better than it looks.

And there is some really cool street musicians. This guy was busting out some very cool rap and drew a pretty big crowd. I watched him for quite a while. I have a video but I can't upload that from the Mobile.
