Farewell Spain

Time for a retrospective.
Things that stood out were dogs, nose piercings, the passion the people have for each other, cheap beer and wine, bikes and beautiful women.
My favourite places were Madrid and Granada.
Saville was a bit of a disappointment (except for Santa Cruze) but that may have had something to do with the 42deg heat and broken air conditioner (there was no respite) and big expectations.
The late night dinners have done nothing for my weight. Drinking and eating heaps before bed is no good. I blame the siestas.
There was plenty of driving during the 28 days and some was very testing but generally not too bad. The drive from Tavira to Granada was easily the most scenic.
I met some really nice people and surprisingly had a run in with a few as well that weren't so nice. More than I would have expected.
The Spanish do things in moderation and slowly. For example, they don't drink to the state of dunk (actually quite little) nor do they work with any real speed. Time is of no interest to them. Don't get me wrong though they know how to have a good time and stay out late.
Anyway it was lots of fun and just when I was getting my Spanish to an acceptable level for a tourist I have to start brushing up on my French.
